Savvy Shopper Homework

We completed 3 of the 5 steps towards earning the Savvy Shopper patch at Friday's meeting.
  1. We brainstormed about ways we can spend some of our Cookie Dough. (watch for a poll coming soon to vote for which activity we should spend the money on)
  2. We discussed purchases that we made and whether they were good or bad.
  3. We made 2 collages for our binders - 1 of "Needs" and 1 of "Wants"

For Savvy Shopper homework:
  1. Finish your collages - there should be at least 10 things on each page.  If you weren't at the meeting, cut up magazines, catalogs, or ads and make 2 • 8 1/2" x 11" collages - 1 you will label "Needs" and 1 you will label "Wants"
  2. Go grocery shopping with a parent.  Discuss whether you can save money by purchasing a different brand, etc. for a few of the items - or is there another way you can save money on your purchases?
  3. Find 10 items that girls wanted in the past, and 10 items that they needed - you can interview an older family member, or research it in a book.
