Digital Photography Homework

I am posting this early so that everyone has a chance to get started on it this weekend :)

  1. Learn how to use your camera (done at meeting)
  2. Take some photos (at meeting or at home)
  3. Edit the photos using computer software (doesn't have to be anything fancy - but can be if you choose.  Some ideas are to crop it so that the focal point is centered or on the side; change it to black & white or sepia; over-saturate the colors or decolor it and make it look like it is tinted; or...  My favorite photo editing software is PhotoScape - it is free to download.  You can also use an app on your smart phone or iPad.
  4. Print your favorite photo (we are going to frame it for a Father's Day gift at the June 2 meeting) - print a 4"x6" photo - don't crop it too close to the image, the inside dimensions of the mat is 3.5" x 5", so the edges will not be seen
  5. Share your photos - Email me your 3 favorite photos.  I will post them here on the blog so everyone can see them :)
