I was asked to forward this information on to you.  They would like as many Girl Scouts (in uniform) in attendance as possible.

"We'd like as many girl scouts as possible to attend this unique 100th Anniversary event! You don't have to attend as a troop, solo girls/families welcome. Girls, please wear your uniforms/sashes!

On March 5 at 7 pm at Mercer Island City Hall Council Chambers Mayor Bruce Bassett will proclaim 2012 as the Year of the Girl Scout.Mercer Island Girl Scouts and their families are invited to be in attendance. It will be great to show Girl Scout support for Girl Scouts and for the Council as they make this announcement so please join for a short ceremony.

Logistics: Arrive at 6:50 and sit in the audience seats. At 7pm Council Rollcall will be conducted. Then Mayor Bassett will invite the Girl Scouts and volunteers to come and stand on the dais behind the Council. The Proclamation will be read. Pictures can be taken. The Scouts will then be excused to file out of Chambers. Girls should be finished by 7:20. (Note: Any families who want to stay for the Council meeting are welcome to return to the seating area)."
